China announces anti-dumping investigation on imported stainless steel products originating from Japan, Japan, Korea and other countries

The Ministry of Commerce received the application submitted by China's domestic industry in June 22, 2018. After review, the Ministry of Commerce considered that the total output of the applicant and the applicant for the application of the enterprises in the same period of 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 accounted for more than 50% of the total output of similar products in China, which was in conformity with the relevant regulations, so the anti-dumping investigation was decided.
The survey lasted for one year and extended to a year and a half under special circumstances.
Stainless steel billets and stainless steel hot rolled plates / rolls are usually used for two kinds, or as raw materials for cold rolling stainless steel or as final products. It is mainly used in ships, containers, railways, electric power, petroleum, petrochemical and other industries.

According to official data, in 2017 China imported more than 70.3 million tons of stainless steel billet and stainless steel hot rolled plates / rolls, including 689 thousand tons from the EU, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia, accounting for 98% of the total number of imported products, and the import volume was nearly three times that of 2016.
